St Gemma's Great Yorkshire Book Sale

I made this: BookElf at 3:44 pm
Because you need more books in your life, St Gemma's Hospice is holding a lovely sounding event on Sunday 17th June from 10 am -4pm so you can a) buy loads of books at bargain prices and b) help the hospice at the same time.

There are literally thousands of books on sale at bargain prices, including collector’s books; a children’s corner with story-telling; literary stalls; cakes and refreshments and lots more.

Entry by donation on the door, or bring a bag of unwanted goods to donate to our shops and you can get in free! If you are interested in having a stall of your own on the day to promote your literary organisation or business, you can reserve one for just £25. I won't be having a stall, but I will be going with a pre-saved wad, in order to stock up the Travelling Suitcase Library. Plus, CAKE.

That weekend, what with the Leeds Big Bookend and ArcadiaLBC, is starting to look about as bookish as a weekend can do!

St Gemma's is based in Moortown, Leeds, and provides specialist medical and nursing care for local people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer, and support for their families too. Care provided is free of charge to patients and their families so St Gemma's relies on donations and local fundraising initiatives in the community. I'm ever greatful to the staff of St Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough for the care and support they gave me and my family during the most difficult of times, and urge people to support their local hospices in what ever way they can.
