Agree the other queen is weakest in Gregroy Tudor cycle BUT you HAVE to read full version of The Queen's Fool it is absolutely my favourite of that series (and have weird historical/literary crush on Robert Dudley - yes i know i'm weird).
Just read publisher proof of a book about Frances Stuart who appears in Forever Amber, watch this space for review xx
And Alison Weir's history biographies are AMAZINGsianandcrookedribhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00959715300131969670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3995576795502079366.post-25064879139513636742011-06-29T19:07:50.325+01:002011-06-29T19:07:50.325+01:00I'm reading a book set in the Elizabethan era ...I'm reading a book set in the Elizabethan era at the moment; The Girl in the Mirror by Sarah Gristwood. It has some nice descriptions of court politicking and gardens (the main character is a girl disguised as a boy who ends up working for Robert Carey as a gardener) but none of the characters are very interesting.

My favourite books set in that period are Firedrake's Eye and its sequels, by Patricia Finney.Terrinoreply@blogger.com
